Chalet Hotels is likely to remain in focus after the company announced a favourable development in an ongoing land-related litigation concerning the Four Points by Sheraton Navi Mumbai property located in Vashi.

The update follows a Supreme Court ruling on a dispute involving land originally allotted by the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) to K. Raheja Corp Private Limited (KRCPL).

Supreme Court Rules on Long-Running Land Dispute

The litigation stemmed from two Public Interest Litigations filed before the Bombay High Court challenging the allotment of land by CIDCO to KRCPL.

The High Court had earlier directed restoration of the plot to its original condition and handover of vacant possession to CIDCO.

KRCPL subsequently challenged the decision before the Supreme Court through a Special Leave Petition. In its judgment delivered on May 26, 2026, the apex court overturned the Bombay High Court’s directions requiring restoration of the land and surrender of possession.

Court Backs Regularisation Mechanism

According to the company’s exchange filing, the Supreme Court endorsed a framework for regularising the land allotment, subject to payment of amounts determined by the court.

The ruling effectively provides a resolution pathway for the disputed land parcel associated with the hotel property.

Chalet Hotels stated that it is reviewing the detailed judgment and will make further disclosures if required after evaluating the order.

Implications For Chalet Hotels

The development removes uncertainty linked to the land allotment dispute and provides greater clarity regarding the status of the property.

The company's Four Points by Sheraton Navi Mumbai hotel continues to operate on the land that was the subject of the litigation.

Chalet Hotels Share Price Performance

As of 26 May 2026, at 3:30 PM, Chalet Hotels share price closed at ₹795.05 per share, reflecting a 0.79% decline from the previous closing price.

Conclusion

The Supreme Court’s decision marks a significant development in the Navi Mumbai land dispute, with the court backing a regularisation mechanism instead of restoring the land to CIDCO. Investors may watch for further details once Chalet Hotels completes its review of the judgment.
