BLS International Secures Contract for Ayushman Bharat and Vay Vandana Card Approvals in West Bengal

BLS International has been awarded a contract by the Government of West Bengal, in collaboration with the National Health Authority (NHA), to provide card approval services under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri-Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) and the Ayushman Vay Vandana scheme.
As per the CNBC TV 18 news report, the company will work as one of the Card Approver Agencies under the programme.
Verification Through NHA Platform
The company's role will involve verifying and approving beneficiary applications submitted on the National Health Authority's digital platform.
This includes applications for Ayushman Bharat health cards and Ayushman Vay Vandana cards for eligible senior citizens aged 70 years and above. The approval process is part of the enrolment procedure before health cards are issued.
Around 8.5 Crore Beneficiaries
According to the company, the programme is expected to cover nearly 8.5 crore beneficiaries across West Bengal. The objective is to process applications submitted by eligible citizens under the two healthcare schemes.
The announcement did not specify how many applications BLS International is expected to handle or when the work will begin.
