Biocon has secured market entry rights for Yesintek, its proposed biosimilar to Stelara, across nine additional markets under a licensing agreement with Janssen Sciences Ireland, as per the exchange filing.

The agreement covers Australia, Brazil, China, Hong Kong, Israel, Mexico, New Zealand, South Korea and Kazakhstan, with the rights effective immediately.

Nine Markets Added to Existing Licensing Arrangements

The latest agreement builds on earlier arrangements that established market entry dates for Yesintek in the United States, Europe, the United Kingdom, Canada and Japan.

Yesintek is a biosimilar to ustekinumab, a medicine used in immune-mediated conditions. Biocon's statement lists Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, plaque psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis among its approved treatment indications.

Stelara Recorded $6.08 Billion in 2025 Sales

The reference product, Stelara, recorded worldwide sales of $6.08 billion in 2025, according to figures reported by Johnson & Johnson.

Biocon said the additional market access would allow it to offer an affordable and effective treatment option for patients affected by autoimmune diseases in the newly covered markets.
