Biocon said on September 25 that the UK’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has approved its new drug product fill-finish unit for Semglee (insulin glargine) in Malaysia, as per the exhchange filing.

The approval is for a new fill-finish line at the company’s insulin manufacturing facility in Malaysia. Biocon had already received approval from the European Medicines Agency (EMA) for the same line in July 2026.

The new unit will be used for Semglee, an insulin glargine product. The approval was granted by the UK’s MHRA for the drug product fill-finish facility.

The facility is part of Biocon’s insulin manufacturing operations in Malaysia.

EMA Had Approved the Line Earlier

The MHRA approval comes after Biocon received clearance from the European Medicines Agency in July 2026.

The company said the EMA had approved the new drug product fill-finish line earlier this year.
