Bharti Airtel Launches Mobile Network In Remote Marwah Region Of Jammu & Kashmir

Bharti Airtel has expanded its mobile network to Marwah, a remote region connecting Kishtwar and Anantnag in Jammu and Kashmir.
With this rollout, Airtel has become the first telecom operator to provide reliable mobile connectivity in the Marwah region, which is known for its difficult terrain and limited accessibility.
Connectivity In A Challenging Region
Marwah is a geographically isolated mountainous area, and during winters it often becomes cut off due to heavy snowfall. Road access to nearby towns remains limited, forcing residents to travel on foot or by mule for supplies and emergencies.
Earlier, the 150-km corridor had no telecom coverage, making communication extremely difficult. Airtel’s high-speed network deployment now brings reliable mobile services to residents, security personnel, and visitors in the region.
Boost For Tourism And Local Development
The new network is expected to improve communication and support economic activities in the region. It may also boost tourism, as Marwah is known for its scenic landscapes and natural beauty.
According to Dibyendu Aich, the rollout highlights Airtel’s commitment to connecting remote areas and strengthening India’s digital infrastructure.
