Bharat Dynamics Share Price in Focus; Secures ₹810.79 Crore Order from Ministry of Defence

Bharat Dynamics Limited has signed a ₹810.79 crore contract with the Ministry of Defence for the supply of Satellite Smart Anti Airfield Weapons, or SAT-SAAW, along with associated equipment for the Indian Air Force, as per the exchange filing. 

The contract was signed on September 23, 2026, under the Buy (Indian - Indigenously Designed, Developed and Manufactured) category. Deliveries are planned over FY2027-28 and FY2028-29. 

SAT-SAAW Order Worth ₹810.79 Crore 

The contract covers SAT-SAAW, an air-to-ground precision-guided glide bomb. The weapon can be launched from aircraft platforms including the Jaguar, Hawk, and Su-30 MKI. 

The system is designed to engage enemy airfields from a long stand-off range. 

DRDO-Developed Weapon Has 60% Indigenous Content 

SAT-SAAW has been indigenously designed and developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). 

The system will have 60% indigenous content, while certain components are also being indigenised. These include the Initial Measurement Unit, Long Impact Delay Fuse, and Twin Store Carrier. 

Deliveries Spread Across Two Financial Years 

Bharat Dynamics is scheduled to execute the contract between FY2027-28 and FY2028-29. 

The order is for the Indian Air Force, with the contract classified as a domestic order. The company has not disclosed a more specific delivery schedule in the announcement. 

Focus On Indigenous Defence Production 

The contract falls under the Buy (Indian - Indigenously Designed, Developed and Manufactured) category. Along with the SAT-SAAW weapon, the indigenisation of selected subsystems forms part of the programme. 

The company said the additional indigenisation is intended to further support self-reliance in defence.
