On August 11, 2026, Bata India Limited released its consolidated unaudited financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, as per the exchange filings.  

The company reported a total income of ₹996.98 crore and a net profit of ₹63.98 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. 

Bata India Q1 FY27 Earnings Results 

For the quarter ended June 30, 2026, Bata India recorded a total income of ₹996.98 crore. This figure represents a 4.0% increase compared to the ₹958.84 crore reported in the same quarter of the previous year.  

Furthermore, the total income saw an increase of 17.7% when compared to the ₹847.38 crore reported in the preceding quarter ended March 31, 2026. 

The company net profit, identified as profit after tax, reached ₹63.98 crore for the June 2026 quarter. This reflects a 23.0% rise from the ₹52.00 crore reported during the corresponding quarter of the previous year.  

On a quarter-on-quarter basis, the net profit grew by 2,797.8% from the ₹2.21 crore recorded in the March 2026 quarter. 

Annual Financial Overview for FY26 

The financial reports also provided data regarding the performance for the financial year 2026. During this period, the total income for Bata India Limited stood at ₹3,594.70 crore. Additionally, the company net profit for the financial year 2026 was reported at ₹134.20 crore. 

Profits and Special Expenses 

Profit before taxes excluding one-offs stood at ₹90.6 crore, compared to ₹74.5 crore last year. One-offs included a forex loss of ₹2.7 crore and ERP costs of ₹2.4 crore. 

Operational efficiency and disciplined cost management enabled an operating cash profit of ₹216.6 crore. The board announced an interim dividend of ₹0.0000025 crore per share, totaling ₹321.3 crore. 

Operational and Inventory Progress 

CEO Gunjan Shah stated that topline growth of four percent was led by premiumization and volume expansion. Consumer engagement investments increased significantly by nearly twenty-five percent during this quarter. 

The company successfully navigated global geopolitical issues affecting freight costs and transit times. Gross inventory decreased by over ten percent compared to the prior year period. 

Strategy and Channel Growth 

The Zero Base Merchandising Project scaled to 775 stores, improving customer experience. Full price sales and lower markdowns helped the company achieve a healthy gross margin gain of 130 basis points. 

Growth remained broad-based across all channels, with significant expansion recorded in e-commerce. Management expressed optimism for continued momentum as monsoon business shifts into the September quarter. 

Brand Reach and Footprint 

Bata India is the largest footwear retailer and manufacturer in the country, serving over 250,000 customers daily. Its vast network includes nearly 2,000 company-owned and franchise retail stores. 

The brand sells close to 50 million pairs of footwear annually. Its portfolio features popular brands like Bata Red Label, Bata Comfit, Power, NorthStar, Floatz, Bubblegummers, and Hush Puppies.
