
Bandhan Bank's share price experienced a decline of over 15% after the bank revised its return-on-assets (RoA) guidance downward, as per The Moneycontrol news report.
Despite reporting a 35% increase in quarterly profit and steady loan growth in Q1 FY 2027, the market reacted to the bank's cautious outlook.
The stock price decreased by 1.19% to ₹208.83 from ₹211.34, slightly below its recent high. The bank maintained a net interest margin of 6.2%, with profit after tax reaching ₹502 crore.
In Q1 FY 2027, Bandhan Bank reported a profit after tax of ₹502 crore, marking a 35% increase from the previous year. Net interest income rose by 6% year over year to ₹2,921 crore.
The bank's management adjusted its RoA guidance to 1.0%-1.4% by the end of Q4 FY 2027, down from the earlier 1.6%-1.8%.
Non-EEB advances grew by 27% year over year, reducing reliance on microfinance. Asset quality improved, with gross NPA at 3.1% and net NPA at 0.9%.
Bandhan Bank continued to diversify its business mix, shifting towards secured lending, retail products, and wholesale banking.
Gross advances increased by 16% year over year to ₹1.56 lakh crore, while total deposits rose by 7% to ₹1.65 lakh crore.
The credit-to-deposit ratio stood at 94%, indicating strong lending activity. The capital adequacy ratio, including profits, improved to 18.2%.
Despite flat growth in the EEB portfolio, non-EEB loans grew by 27% year over year, now accounting for about two-thirds of the loan book. This diversification helped offset the cautious approach towards EEB due to macroeconomic and geopolitical uncertainties.

Parthapratim Sengupta, managing director and chief executive, highlighted the bank's resilience amid challenging conditions. He noted the impact of higher funding costs and increased technology spending due to supply chain constraints linked to the Middle East conflict.
Chief Financial Officer Rajeev Mantri emphasised the balanced business mix, with the non-EEB portfolio contributing two-thirds of the overall loan book.
