Asian Paints Share Price in Focus; Commences Commercial Production at VAE Manufacturing Facility in Gujarat

Asian Paints has started commercial production of Vinyl Acetate Ethylene Emulsion (VAE) at its facility in Dahej, Gujarat. The production began on September 17, 2026, adding a new manufacturing capability at the site.
The VAE from the facility will mainly be used by the company at its own paint manufacturing facilities. The move is part of Asian Paints’ ongoing effort to bring more of its input requirements within its manufacturing setup.
Dahej Facility Begins VAE Production
The new facility has an installed VAE production capacity of 1,50,000 tonnes per annum. Asian Paints intends to use the material primarily for captive consumption rather than supplying it externally.
The company has described the start of production as an important milestone in its backward integration plans. The Dahej site is being developed as a broader manufacturing setup for materials used in its operations.
VAM and Ethylene Facilities Still Under Construction
The work at Dahej is not complete yet. Construction of the Vinyl Acetate Monomer (VAM) manufacturing facility is continuing, along with the ethylene storage and handling facility.
These facilities were part of the earlier plans announced by the company for the Dahej site. Asian Paints said it will provide further updates on material developments related to the project.
Captive Use Remains the Immediate Focus
For now, the newly produced VAE is intended mainly for use within Asian Paints’ own paint manufacturing network. This gives the company an internal source for the material instead of relying entirely on external procurement.
The company has not provided any figures on the financial impact, expected savings, utilisation levels or additional revenue from the new facility in the disclosure.
Asian Paints Share Price Performance
As of 18 September 2026, at 11:19 AM, Asian Paints Ltd share price was trading at ₹2,442.70 per share, reflecting a decline of 0.46% from the previous trading session.
Conclusion
Asian Paints has brought its 1.5 lakh tonne annual VAE facility at Dahej into commercial production. Work on the VAM and ethylene facilities at the same location is continuing, leaving the wider project still under development.
