Shares of asset management companies (AMCs) gained up to 5% in Tuesday’s trading on strong growth expectations.

ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company and Nippon Life India Asset Management surged about 5% and touched new record highs.

Other AMC stocks such as UTI Asset Management Company, HDFC Asset Management Company, and Canara Robeco Asset Management Company rose between 1% and 4%.

In the last 1 month, AMC stocks have climbed 18–29%, outperforming the broader market.

What Are AMC Stocks?

Asset Management Company (AMC) stocks represent listed firms that manage pooled investments like mutual funds, ETFs and portfolio management services. These companies earn mainly through management fees charged as a percentage of their assets under management (AUM) and act as intermediaries by investing client money across diversified portfolios such as equities, bonds and real estate.

Why AMC Stocks Are Outperforming?

The sector is benefiting from a major shift in savings habits. As incomes rise, households are moving money from physical assets to financial investments like mutual funds.

Key drivers include:

  • Strong and steady SIP (Systematic Investment Plan) inflows growing over 15% yearly
  • Continued equity inflows despite flat markets since September 2024
  • Increasing participation from retail investors

Conclusion

AMC stocks are gaining momentum due to steady inflows, rising financial savings and strong long-term growth prospects.
