Adani Green Energy Share Price in Focus; Operationalises 481.9 MW Renewable Capacity and 3,081 MWh BESS

Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) has commercially operationalised 481.9 MW of renewable energy projects in Gujarat, covering locations at Khavda and Mundra, as per the exchange filing.
The projects comprise 343.3 MW of solar capacity and 138.6 MW of wind capacity. The solar capacity is held through Adani Renewable Energy Fifty Seven Limited, while Adani Wind Energy Kutch Three Limited accounts for the wind project.
Following the commissioning, AGEL’s total operational renewable generation capacity has reached 20,762.70 MW.
Battery Storage Addition
The company has also commissioned 3,081 MWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity at Khavda. The addition takes AGEL’s total operational BESS capacity to 6,632 MWh, according to the company’s October 1 filing.
The newly operationalised BESS capacity is spread across three subsidiaries. Adani Renewable Energy Thirty Five Limited has 642 MWh, Adani Green Energy Twenty Seven C Limited has 1,355 MWh and Adani Green Energy Twenty Seven B Limited has 1,084 MWh.
Khavda BESS Capacity
AGEL said its operational BESS capacity at Khavda has increased to 6.63 GWh from 3.55 GWh in June 2026. The company stated that this accounts for more than 50% of India’s operational BESS capacity, estimated at around 12.6 GWh.
The Khavda storage system uses lithium-ion battery technology, along with an Energy Management System and automated telemetry for managing charging and discharging.
The company said the system can help manage peak demand, reduce energy curtailment and support the delivery of renewable power when required.
Further Storage Plans
AGEL is developing a 30 GW renewable energy plant across 538 square kilometres at Khavda. It is targeting more than 10 GWh of additional BESS capacity during FY2026-27 and 50 GWh over the next five years.
