As of 7:26 AM, GIFT Nifty futures were trading 53.85 points lower at 23,844. In the previous session, Sensex rose by 368.40 points (0.47%) to close at 78,507.41, while Nifty50 gained 98.10 points (0.41%) to settle at 23,742.90.

Key Stocks to Watch on January 2, 2025

  • Auto Stocks: Tata Motors and Maruti Suzuki

Auto stocks, including Tata Motors and Maruti Suzuki, will be in focus as companies release their December 2024 sales and production figures.

  • Telecom Stocks

Telecom operators reported a 10.5% year-on-year (Y-o-Y) rise in gross revenue to ₹91,426 crore for the September 2024 quarter, driven by tariff hikes, as per TRAI’s latest performance report.

  • NMDC

NMDC reported a 5.1% Y-o-Y increase in iron ore production to 4.71 million tonnes in December 2024. However, sales fell 6.7% to 3.91 million tonnes compared to 4.19 million tonnes in December 2023.

  • Hero MotoCorp

The Income Tax Department has issued an additional tax demand of ₹26.40 crore to Hero MotoCorp for the assessment year 2020-21.

  • RailTel Corporation

RailTel secured a ₹78.43 crore order from Bharat Coking Coal Ltd for implementing IT-based security infrastructure and related services.

  • Ambuja Cements

Ambuja Cements received regulatory clearance from the BSE and NSE for the merger of Adani Cementation with the company.
