Zuari Industries has acquired a 50% stake in Forte Furniture

Indian Furniture Products Limited (IFPL), a subsidiary of Zuari Industries Limited (ZIL), has acquired a 50% stake in Forte Furniture Products India Private Limited (FFPIPL) from Fabryki Mebli Forte S.A., a Polish joint venture partner. With this acquisition, IFPL now holds the entire equity share capital of FFPIPL, making it a subsidiary of IFPL and a step-down subsidiary of ZIL.
What’s the Deal?
The acquisition wrapped up very recently, with a cash outlay of Rs.41,791. FFPIPL is well-known for its ready-to-assemble furniture under the brands Style Spa and Zuari. The company reported a turnover of Rs.3,892.14 lakh for FY24, showing consistent growth. Over the past three years, FFPIPL’s revenue has shown good figures: Rs.5,182.75 lakh in FY22 and Rs.6,022.36 lakh in FY23. This consistent growth highlights FFPIPL’s presence in the Indian furniture market.
Why This Matters
With Fabryki Mebli Forte stepping back from the joint venture, IFPL and ZIL are now in a prime position to capitalize on the booming furniture market in India. The Indian furniture industry is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of around 10% over the next five years, driven by increasing disposable incomes and a growing middle class.
Now that Zuari Industries has full control, it can streamline operations and tap into the growing demand for ready-to-assemble furniture, which is becoming increasingly popular among urban consumers.
Conclusion: In conclusion, this acquisition is a game changer for Zuari Industries, strengthening its presence in the Indian furniture market. With 100% ownership of Forte Furniture, Zuari is set to channel FFPIPL’s established brands and boost its market share. This is to lead to innovations and a competitive edge, paving the way for long-term growth in the furniture industry. With a turnover nearing Rs.4,000 lakh and a flourishing market, the future looks bright for Zuari Industries and Forte Furniture.
