Paytm's New Privacy Feature: You Can Now Hide Your Payment History

Paytm has rolled out a new feature called ‘Hide Payment’ to give users more privacy and control over their payment history. This update comes after feedback from many users who wanted more privacy in their transactions.
What is the ‘Hide Payment’ Feature?
The ‘Hide Payment’ feature allows Paytm users to hide specific transactions from their payment history. These hidden payments won’t be visible unless the user chooses to unhide them again.
This move has been introduced to better user experience. With the ‘Hide Payment’, Paytm seeks to give users more control and comfort when making payments.
At 12:54 PM, the Paytm share price was down 0.78% and was trading at ₹864.15.
How to Hide a Payment in Paytm
Follow these steps to hide a transaction:
- Open the Paytm app and go to the “Balance & History” section.
- Swipe left on the payment you want to hide.
- Tap on “Hide” when the option appears.
- Confirm your action by selecting “Yes”.
- The payment will now disappear from your visible history.
How to Unhide a Payment
To view or unhide hidden transactions:
- Go to the “Balance & History” section in the Paytm app.
- Tap the three-dot icon next to ‘Payment History’.
- Select “View Hidden Payments” from the menu.
- Confirm your identity with your phone’s PIN or biometric verification (fingerprint/face).
- Swipe left on the hidden transaction and tap “Unhide”.
- The transaction will reappear in your history.
What Makes This Feature Unique?
At present, other popular mobile payment apps like Google Pay and PhonePe do not offer a similar privacy option. This gives Paytm an edge when it comes to user-focused features.
Other Useful Features on Paytm
Paytm already offers several services such as:
- UPI Lite for fast, small-value payments.
- Linking of RuPay credit cards to UPI for convenient usage.
- Auto-Pay for automatic bill and subscription payments.
- International UPI support in countries like the UAE, Singapore, and France.
Conclusion
With the introduction of ‘Hide Payment’, Paytm is once again proving its focus on user privacy and convenience. This simple but powerful tool gives users better control over how their payment history is displayed and helps improve the overall app experience.
