Sensex Opens Higher on June 9; Bajaj Finance, Kotak Mahindra & More Surge

Sensex opened higher on June 9, 2025, rising 334 pts to 82,523; banking stocks led gains with Bajaj Finance up 3.08%, all BSE indices in green.

Indian benchmark indices opened in green on Monday, June 9, 2025. At 10:08 AM, BSE Sensex rose over 334 points after the market opened and was trading at the 82,500 level. Sensex opened at 82,574.55 and was trading at 82,523.26, up by 0.41%. 

BSE Sensex 30 Stocks

Out of the 30 stocks in the BSE Sensex, 8 stocks were trading in the red, while the remaining stocks were witnessing a rise. Among the gainers, Bajaj Finance, stood out with an upward momentum, registering a notable gain of 3.08% on the BSE as of 10:15 AM. 

Kotak Mahindra gained 2.95%, followed by Axis Bank up by 2.46%, and Bajaj Finserv rose by 2.46%. In contrast, Bharti Airtel was down by 0.71%.

Sectoral Performance 

All the indices on the BSE were in green. BSE Bankex and BSE Sensex 50 increased by 0.89% and 0.47%, respectively.

Conclusion

The Indian markets started the week on a positive note, led by strong gains in banking and financial stocks. Broader sectoral momentum also remained upbeat.
