Sanchaar Saathi app is no longer mandatory for mobile phone users. The government has taken back its earlier rule. This decision comes after strong concerns from users about privacy and control. The Ministry of Communications explained that the app is meant only to help citizens stay safe online, not to track anyone.

Why Were People Worried About Sanchar Saathi App?

Many people were worried about a point in the earlier order, called 7B. It created confusion because it looked like users would not be able to delete the app.

However, Point 7B was only for manufacturers. The government has now made it clear that the misunderstanding was never intentional. It simply said the app should be visible and easy to access when a phone is first set up. Users could always uninstall it just like any other app.

The government had brought this rule after noticing that the app was becoming more popular. It recorded nearly six lakh downloads in a single day, showing that people are willing to use it without being forced.

Why Does Sanchar Saathi App Matter?

Even though the installation is no longer mandatory, the government continues to encourage people to use Sanchar Saathi. The app helps users block stolen devices, check mobile connections linked to their identity, and report fraud. With online scams rising, the app aims to give citizens simple tools to stay safer.

Conclusion

The removal of the mandatory rule brings clarity and comfort to users. You remain fully in control of your phone and its apps. Sanchar Saathi stays optional, and you can install or delete it whenever you like. The hope is that clear communication will build trust and make cyber safety tools more accessible to everyone.
