The government is expected to release the 21st instalment of PM-KISAN—₹2,000, any time soon, possibly before the Bihar Assembly polls on November 6. Under PM-KISAN, eligible farmers get ₹6,000 per year in 3 instalments. With the next payment round approaching, it’s important for farmers to check whether their name is still on the beneficiary list.

At the same time, the government is cleaning the database to remove ineligible or duplicate beneficiaries, which may result in some names being removed temporarily.

What is PM-KISAN and Why It Matters?

PM-KISAN is a central government scheme that provides direct financial support to small and marginal farmers. The money ₹2,000 per installment is directly transferred to bank accounts through DBT.

Over 9.7 crore farmers have already benefited from the scheme. Before each installment, the beneficiary list is updated to ensure all details are accurate.

Why Your Name May Be Missing From the List

Your name might not appear due to common issues such as:

1. e-KYC Not Completed or Expired

Every beneficiary must complete e-KYC. If it’s pending or outdated, your name may be removed.

2. Aadhaar Not Linked With Your Bank Account

PM-KISAN payments require an Aadhaar-linked bank account.

3. Errors in Your Personal or Land Details

Any mismatch in your name, Aadhaar, or land records can cause your status to be flagged.

4. Incorrect Bank or IFSC Details

Wrong account numbers or old IFSC codes can lead to failed transactions.

5. Eligibility or Ownership Issues

Only land-owning farmers qualify. Tenants and sharecroppers are not eligible.

How to Check If Your Name Is on the PM-KISAN List

Follow these steps:

  1. Visit pmkisan.gov.in
  2. Go to Farmers Corner
  3. Click Beneficiary List
  4. Select your State, District, Block, and Village
  5. Click Get Report

If your name is listed, your payment will be credited soon. If not, you need to update your details.

What to Do If Your Name Is Missing

1. Complete Your e-KYC

  • Visit the PM-KISAN website and complete OTP-based e-KYC
  • If online fails, visit the nearest CSC centre

2. Fix Aadhaar-Bank Linking Issues

  • Visit your bank branch
  • Ensure your Aadhaar details match your bank records

3. Correct Land Records or Personal Details

  • Visit your local Tehsil/Revenue office
  • Update any incorrect land or ownership details

4. Recheck Your Status on the Portal

After updating information, check your status again under:
“Status of Self-Registered / CSC Farmers”

Act Fast to Avoid Delays

PM-KISAN instalments are released in batches. If your details are not correct during verification, your payment may be delayed for up to three months. For many farmers, this assistance is crucial for buying seeds, fertilisers and managing other expenses.

Beware of Fake Websites and Messages

Stay alert:

  • The official website is only pmkisan.gov.in
  • Do not share OTPs or bank details with anyone
  • Avoid apps or agents promising “faster payments”
