The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has reminded pensioners to submit their Digital Life Certificate (DLC), also known as Jeevan Pramaan, on time to ensure uninterrupted pension payments. Failure to submit the certificate within the required period may result in the pension being stopped until the certificate is furnished.

To make the process easier, EPFO has enabled pensioners to submit their Jeevan Pramaan from home using smartphone-based face authentication. Those who are unable to complete the process themselves can also opt for a free doorstep service through India Post Payments Bank (IPPB).

Why Is Jeevan Pramaan Important for EPFO Pensioners?

The Digital Life Certificate serves as proof that the pensioner is alive and eligible to continue receiving pension benefits. According to EPFO, every pensioner must submit the certificate once a year.

In a video shared on its official X account, Alok Yadav, Regional PF Commissioner at EPFO, said that once submitted, the Digital Life Certificate remains valid for one year from the date of submission.

Pensioners can also check the validity of their existing Digital Life Certificate through the Pensioner Portal on the EPFO website to find out when the next submission is due.

  • Fill in your PPO number, sanctioning authority, bank details, and other required information.

  • Select the applicable options for re-employment and remarriage, if any.

  • Allow the Aadhaar Face RD app to access the camera and complete the face scan.

  • Once authentication is successful, the Digital Life Certificate will be submitted.

How to Book EPFO's Free Doorstep Jeevan Pramaan Service

For pensioners who cannot use the online facility, EPFO has partnered with India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) to provide a free doorstep service.

To avail of the service, pensioners can call the toll-free number 0000 202 9000. An IPPB Dak Sevak will visit the pensioner's residence and assist in submitting the Digital Life Certificate.

Conclusion

Submitting the Digital Life Certificate on time is essential for EPFO pensioners to continue receiving pensions without interruption. With face authentication through the UMANG app and a free doorstep service available via IPPB, pensioners can now complete the process conveniently without visiting an EPFO office.
