The discussions are aimed at gathering recommendations from employee representatives before the Commission finalises its report on the next revision of salaries, allowances, and pensions.
The consultations are expected to play a crucial role in shaping the Commission's recommendations, which will impact lakhs of Central government employees and pensioners across the country.
According to a notice issued on July 23, 2026, the Commission has invited associations, federations, and unions of Central government and Union Territory employees that are located or registered in Delhi.
However, only organisations that have already submitted their memorandum and have not previously interacted with the Commission in Delhi or any other state or Union Territory are eligible to participate in these meetings.
Interested organisations must submit their appointment request online by July 31, 2026, along with their unique Memo ID. The Commission will communicate the meeting venue and timings separately.
The Commission has also announced that similar consultations will be organised in Delhi as well as various states and Union Territories over the coming months.
Employee associations outside the Delhi-NCR region will be able to seek appointments in their respective states or at nearby locations when consultations are scheduled. The Commission said the timetable for future meetings will be published on its official website.
These interactions are a routine part of every Pay Commission's functioning, allowing employee representatives to present their views on key issues, including pay scales, allowances, pensions, career progression, and service conditions.
The 8th Pay Commission is currently in the consultation phase, during which it is collecting feedback from employee unions, government ministries, departments, and state governments before preparing its final recommendations.
Once submitted and approved by the Centre, the Commission's recommendations will determine the next revision in salaries, allowances, and pension benefits for Central government employees and pensioners.
