Ola Electric is facing a tough time in mid-2025, as recent sales data revealed a worrying 45% year-on-year decline for June. The dip coincides with rising customer complaints about technical issues in its new flagship electric motorcycle, the Roadster X Plus.
According to FADA data, Ola Electric sold 20,190 electric two-wheelers in June 2025, a 45.22% decline compared to 36,859 units in June 2024. The significant drop is being linked to growing concerns over the newly launched Roadster X series, particularly the Plus variant. A viral video surfaced this month showing a customer failing to charge the Roadster X Plus despite repeated attempts and customer support calls.
The charging-related issue has drawn attention, with the motorcycle's TFT screen displaying a 'Not Charging' alert even when connected to a power outlet. The affected customer expressed disappointment after receiving no effective service resolution. Product credibility has been affected at a time when Ola had begun long-awaited deliveries of its electric motorcycles that were announced in February 2025.

Despite the year-on-year drop, Ola Electric’s month-on-month figures saw a 9.13% rise from 18,501 units in May 2025 to 20,190 units in June. Additionally, VAHAN data reveals 60,000 vehicle registrations in the first quarter of FY2026, backed by estimates suggesting a 25% revenue increase this quarter as the firm focuses on strengthening service and infrastructure support for its electric lineup.
The Roadster X, priced from ₹1 lakh (ex-showroom), and its higher-end variant Roadster X Plus at ₹1.30 lakh, mark the company's bold entry into the performance e-motorcycle segment. However, technical glitches at an early stage may hurt stakeholder sentiment and brand confidence in a competitive EV marketplace.
On July 10, 2025, Ola Electric share price opened at ₹40.51 on NSE, above the previous close of ₹40.38. During the day, it surged to ₹40.63 and dipped to ₹40.06. The stock is trading at ₹40.22 as of 10:53 AM. The stock is trading lower by 0.40%.
Over the past week, it has declined by 3.62%, over the past month, it has declined by 14.90%, and over the past 3 months, it has declined by 19.88%.
Ola Electric’s steep sales dip in June 2025 reflects customer pushback amid technical failures of the Roadster X Plus. While monthly and quarterly trends offer some stability, addressing quality and service concerns remains crucial as the company moves forward in India's competitive EV sector.
