SBI Mutual Fund Buys Stakes: Nearly 2% in Elgi Equipments, 4% in ASK Automotive

SBI Mutual Fund made fresh market purchases on November 25, 2025, adding shares of Elgi Equipments and ASK Automotive through bulk deals. The fund bought close to 2% of Elgi Equipments and nearly 4% of ASK Automotive’s equity during the trading session. 

Portfolio Size and Recent Value 

Data from Trendlyne shows SBI Mutual Fund publicly holds 46 stocks valued at over ₹3,01,081 crore. The portfolio value went up by 8.5% in the September quarter of FY26 and stood at around ₹3,02,164.94 crore. These changes reflect the latest reported holdings for the period. 

Almost 4% Stake Bought in ASK Automotive 

Bulk deal numbers indicate that about 4% of ASK Automotive’s shares changed hands between the promoter and SBI Mutual Fund. The fund bought 78.61 lakh shares, or 3.98% of the paid-up equity, at ₹473 per share, worth ₹371.86 crore. Promoter Kuldip Singh Rathee sold 78.85 lakh shares, a 4% stake, for ₹373 crore. 

In Q2 FY26, the company reported consolidated operating revenue of ₹1,059 crore, an 8.5% increase from ₹976 crore last year. Profit after tax stood at ₹80 crore, up 18.6% from ₹67 crore. 

SBI Mutual Fund Lifts its Holding in Elgi Equipments 

The fund house also acquired 55.6 lakh shares of Elgi Equipments, equal to 1.75% of the company’s paid-up equity. The purchase was made at ₹483 per share, amounting to ₹268.64 crore. As of September 2025, SBI Mutual Fund already held 4.28% in the air compressor manufacturer. 

For Q2 FY26, the company reported net profit of ₹118 crore, up 27.7% year-on-year, with net sales rising 11.4% to ₹968 crore.

Conclusion 

SBI Mutual Fund added new positions to both companies through open-market deals, extending its holdings in the manufacturing and automotive segments.
