SBI Mutual Fund has recently strengthened its investment in the Adani Group by acquiring a significant stake in both Adani Enterprises and Adani Energy Solutions 

This strategic purchase has been executed through block deals from GQG Partners. 

SBI Mutual Fund's Strategic Stake Acquisition 

On June 5, SBI Mutual Fund acquired a 1.27% stake in Adani Enterprises. This acquisition involved purchasing 1.64 crore shares from GQG Partners Emerging Markets Equity Fund at ₹2,913.4 per share, amounting to ₹4,789.6 crore.  

This transaction highlights SBI MUTUAL FUND's confidence in Adani Enterprises as a key player in the Indian market. 

Notable Move in Adani Energy Solutions 

In addition to the stake in Adani Enterprises, SBI Mutual Fund also picked up additional shares worth ₹958 crore in Adani Energy Solutions.  

The fund house bought 63.65 lakh shares, which constitute a 0.52% stake, from GQG Partners at ₹1,504.8 per share.  

These actions underline SBI Mutual Fund 's strategy to broaden its investment portfolio across established infrastructure sectors. 

Impact on Market Performance 

The acquisitions by SBI Mutual Fund have seemingly contributed to a rally in the stocks. Adani Enterprises shares hit a new 52-week high, closing 2.54% up at ₹3,048.2, the highest since October 10, 2024.  

Similarly, Adani Energy Solutions achieved a fresh 1-year high of ₹1,591.4, ending 3.88% higher at ₹1,579.

Transaction Details and Stake Holdings 

According to data, as of March 2026, the SBI Equity Hybrid Fund held a 3.67% stake in Adani Energy Solutions. Prior to the recent transactions, GQG Partners Emerging Markets Equity Fund owned 1.91% of Adani Energy Solutions and 1.59% of Adani Enterprises.  

These moves reflect a strategic reallocation of shares among prominent market participants.
