Bandhan Asset Management Company has announced the launch of the Arudha Equity Long-Short Fund under its Specialised Investment Funds (SIF) platform, Arudha SIF. The scheme is an open-ended equity strategy introduced under the regulatory framework for specialised funds.
The new fund offer (NFO) will open for subscription on March 5 and close on March 18, 2026. Investments can be made through distributors, registered investment advisers, online investment platforms, or directly with the asset management company during the offer period.
According to the scheme document, the portfolio will allocate 80% to 100% of its assets to equity and equity-related instruments. The strategy also permits short unhedged derivative exposure of up to 25%.
The scheme will be benchmarked against the Nifty 500 Total Return Index (TRI) and will be managed by Nilesh Saha and Brijesh Shah.
The fund may allocate 0-20% to debt and money market instruments and up to 20% in units issued by Infrastructure Investment Trusts (InvITs). The approach is intended to maintain substantial equity exposure while allowing selective use of derivatives and other instruments within regulatory limits.
The investment framework is structured around 4 components: long equity, short equity, covered call strategies and debt instruments. These segments are expected to play different roles within the portfolio.
Long positions are intended to capture opportunities in selected stocks, while short exposure through derivatives may be used to offset market risks or take positions on stocks expected to decline. Covered call strategies may generate additional income, while debt investments can provide liquidity and stability.
Allocation across these components may change depending on market conditions.
The minimum investment for unaccredited investors is ₹10 lakh during the NFO and for ongoing subscriptions. Additional investments can be made in multiples of ₹1.
For accredited investors, the minimum investment is ₹1 lakh, also in multiples of ₹1 thereafter. The fund is designed for investors seeking long-term capital appreciation through a diversified portfolio of equity and equity-related instruments.
