JioBlackRock International AMC (IFSC), a wholly owned subsidiary of JioBlackRock Asset Management, has launched the JioBlackRock Advantage World Equity Fund (IFSC).

The scheme will invest primarily in the BlackRock Advantage World Equity Fund and is registered under the IFSCA Fund Management Regulations. The fund is based in GIFT City, Gujarat, and is open to eligible investors seeking exposure to overseas equity markets.

It is structured as an open-ended fund of funds, meaning it invests in units of another fund rather than directly holding all the underlying shares.

Portfolio Covers the US, Europe and Japan

The underlying BlackRock fund has a track record of more than eight years and invests in developed markets, including the United States, Europe and Japan.

Its portfolio includes companies operating in sectors such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, energy infrastructure, biotechnology, and industrial transformation.

Under the new scheme, 90%-100% of assets will be invested in units of the underlying fund. The scheme's performance will therefore be closely linked to the returns generated by that portfolio.

How the Fund Is Managed?

BlackRock's Systematic Active Equity team manages the underlying investment strategy. The team has more than 40 years of experience in systematic investing.

Its process combines company fundamentals, market sentiment, macroeconomic themes, and sustainability-related factors. Machine learning, alternative data, and advanced analytics are also used to assess investment opportunities.

BlackRock's Aladdin platform supports portfolio construction and risk management.

Minimum Investment and Expenses

The minimum initial investment is $5,000. Further investments require a minimum of $1,000. There is no exit load.

The indicative total expense ratio stands at 0.90% for the direct plan and 1.40% for the regular plan.

Company's Statement

Sid Swaminathan, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of JioBlackRock Asset Management, said the launch would give Indian investors access to BlackRock's systematic investment strategy through GIFT City.

The scheme adds an international equity option to JioBlackRock's offerings. Investors will be exposed to fluctuations in overseas stock markets through the underlying fund.
