
Franklin Templeton has launched the Franklin India Short Term Fund, an open-ended debt mutual fund that aims to generate short-term returns by investing in a diversified portfolio of debt and money market instruments. The New Fund Offer (NFO) is open for subscription from August 5, 2026, to August 11, 2026.
The scheme primarily invests in corporate bonds, State Development Loans (SDLs), government securities and money market instruments. It is designed for investors looking for short- to medium-term investment opportunities with a focus on high-quality debt.
The Franklin India Short Term Fund is an open-ended short-term debt scheme. It maintains a Macaulay duration of between 1 and 3 years, helping investors gain exposure to relatively shorter-duration debt instruments.
The scheme will reopen for continuous purchase and redemption from August 13, 2026.
The fund aims to generate optimal short-term returns by investing in a diversified portfolio of debt and money market securities. However, like all mutual funds, there is no guarantee that the investment objective will be achieved.
The scheme is managed by Rahul Goswami, Chief Investment Officer and Managing Director, India Fixed Income, along with Anuj Tagra and Rohan Maru, Vice Presidents and Portfolio Managers.
The investment strategy focuses on identifying opportunities across the short- to medium-term segment of the yield curve while managing interest rate and credit risks.
