Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC Introduces GIFT City Funds for Emerging Markets and Indian Equities

Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC International (IFSC) announced two fund of funds schemes at GIFT City on October 15, 2026, as per news reports.
The ABSL Emerging Market Equity Fund (Outbound) targets emerging market equities, while the ABSL India Growth Fund (Inbound) invests in schemes focused on Indian equities.
The funds are the first retail offerings from the asset manager’s wholly owned subsidiary at GIFT City’s International Financial Services Centre (IFSC). The subsidiary is regulated by the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA).
Emerging Market Investments
The ABSL Emerging Market Equity Fund is an openended scheme that aims to generate long-term capital appreciation by investing in funds focused on emerging markets.
Its investments will mainly comprise units of the ARGA Emerging Market Equity Fund and/or other emerging market funds.
Eligible Indian residents can invest through the Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS), subject to applicable requirements.
Indian companies can use the Overseas Portfolio Investment (OPI) route, provided they meet the relevant rules.
Access to Indian Equities
The ABSL India Growth Fund is intended for eligible non-resident Indians (NRIs) and foreign investors looking to invest in Indian equities.
It will invest in equity-oriented schemes of Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund, including exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and index funds.
Neither scheme directly builds a portfolio of individual stocks. Instead, both invest through other funds, with their underlying investments determined by their respective objectives.
Investment Starts at $500
The minimum initial investment in each scheme is $500. Further investments can be made in multiples of $100, while subsequent investments can start at $100, according to the company.
Investors should review the scheme documents for details on fees, expenses, eligibility, taxation and redemption conditions before investing.
GIFT City Operations
Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC established its presence at GIFT City through a branch in 2022. The two schemes are being offered through its IFSC subsidiary, with the Emerging Market Equity Fund aimed at eligible Indian investors and the India Growth Fund intended for eligible overseas investors.
