Vodafone-Idea has signed a five-year deal with Tata Consultancy Services to modernise its business support systems. As per the exchange filings, the agreement is for building an AI-powered platform to manage customer services and improve operational processes.
The project will use two of TCS’s products: HOBS™ and TwinX™. HOBS™ will provide the backbone for the support systems, focusing on stability and integration across customer channels. TwinX™ will add artificial intelligence and machine learning features, including scenario simulation, to make services more adaptable.
The new system is to shorten the time needed to launch products, improve service delivery, and handle large-scale digital operations. It is also to offer more flexibility in addressing customer requirements and market changes.
As per the exchange filings, Jagbir Singh, Chief Technology Officer at Vodafone Idea, stated, “With this partnership, Vi is embarking on a transformative journey to redefine customer experience,”. “By modernising our BSS platforms embedded with AI-driven innovation, we are setting a new standard to deliver faster, smarter, and more personalised digital experiences.”
TCS has been active in the communications and media sector for more than two decades. It works with providers in 45 countries and supports more than one billion telecom subscribers. Its delivery network spans over 105 locations worldwide, covering modernisation, networks, and IT operations.
