Indian benchmark indices extended their winning streak for a sixth straight session on August 21, with the Nifty closing above the 25,050 mark.
The Sensex rose by 142.87 points (0.17%) to finish at 82,000.71, while the Nifty ended 33.20 points higher (0.13%) at 25,083.75. Overall market sentiment remained positive, with around 2,025 stocks advancing, 1,886 declining, and 145 remaining unchanged.
In terms of sectoral performance, the Pharma index gained 1%, and the Realty index was up 0.4%. On the downside, the Auto index slipped 0.3%, while the FMCG index dropped 0.6%.
