On Thursday, August 14, 2025, Indian benchmark indices closed nearly unchanged after a range-bound session, as investors stayed cautious ahead of the extended weekend.

Markets will remain shut tomorrow, August 15, for Independence Day.

Some volatility was seen due to the weekly Nifty50 options expiry. The NSE Nifty 50 edged up 11.95 points, or 0.01%, to close at 24,631.30.

The Sensex traded within a narrow 261-point range, hitting an intraday high of 80,751.18 and a low of 80,489.86, before ending 57.75 points higher, or 0.07%, at 80,597.66.

• WIPRO rose by 2.01%, opening at ₹243.10 and closing at ₹246.50, with over 1.28 crore shares traded worth ₹31,688.73 lakhs.
• ETERNAL gained 1.71%, reaching a high of ₹319.80 and ending at ₹317.70, with 4.58 crore shares traded worth ₹1,45,106.49 lakhs.
• INFY climbed 1.50% to ₹1,448.00, with 1.29 crore shares traded, generating ₹1,87,307.85 lakhs in value.
• HDFCLIFE was up 1.47%, closing at ₹788.00 after a day’s high of ₹790.75, on 28.61 lakh shares worth ₹22,541.23 lakhs.
• ASIANPAINT increased 1.19% to ₹2,530.00, with 10.88 lakh shares traded for ₹27,419.47 lakhs.

• TATASTEEL fell 2.81%, closing at ₹155.68 after hitting a low of ₹154.83, with 4.72 crore shares traded worth ₹73,973.19 lakhs.
• ADANIPORTS declined 1.38%, ending at ₹1,301.40, with a trading volume of 22.98 lakh shares worth ₹29,911.14 lakhs.
• HEROMOTOCO slipped 1.27% to ₹4,708.00, with 3.73 lakh shares traded for ₹17,671.08 lakhs.
• TECHM dropped 1.20%, finishing at ₹1,488.20, with 17.15 lakh shares traded worth ₹25,771.37 lakhs.
• TATACONSUM eased 1.01% to ₹1,045.40, on 7.67 lakh shares worth ₹8,082.02 lakhs.
