As per the news reports, Battery energy storage systems manufacturer Tesla Group a.s. has partnered with technology and sustainability leader SRAM & MRAM Group to develop large-scale electric vehicle (EV) battery facilities in India and several global markets.
The $1 billion agreement includes the construction of five gigafactories in India, alongside additional plants in countries such as the US, Brazil, Malaysia, Oman, the UAE, and Cambodia.
As per the news reports, Sailesh L Hiranandani, Chairman of SRAM & MRAM Group, the collaboration will establish one of the most extensive EV battery manufacturing and storage supply chains globally.
While SRAM & MRAM will manage regulatory clearances, subsidies, tax benefits, and local collaborations, Tesla Group a.s. will be responsible for the design, engineering, and construction of the advanced gigafactories. Each unit is expected to cover nearly 500 acres and integrate full-scale production and storage infrastructure.
As per the news reports, Nanda K Bhagi, President of Tesla Group a.s., highlighted that the partnership combines Tesla’s advanced battery energy storage technology with SRAM’s global market expertise. Beyond manufacturing, the companies aim to create ecosystems that support local communities and strengthen the transition toward sustainable energy.
The integrated approach is expected to accelerate EV adoption, attract investments, and position India and partner countries as critical players in the global clean energy landscape.
