Sundaram Alternates, the alternative investment arm of the Sundaram Finance Group, has completed the final close of its Performing Credit Opportunities Fund (PCOF) – Series I at ₹1,200 crore, as per news reports.
The close-ended Category II Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) is focused on providing private credit financing to mid-market Indian businesses.
The fund received commitments from high-net-worth individuals (HNIs), family offices, and institutional investors seeking exposure to structured private credit investments.
According to the company, more than 85% of the capital raised has already been deployed across a diversified portfolio. The investments are currently tracking gross returns of over 15%, in line with the fund's stated return target.
The portfolio follows a senior secured, cash flow-backed lending approach. Investments are supported through business cash flows, promoter backing, and security structures designed to reduce credit risk.
The fund invests across sectors including manufacturing, healthcare, consumer businesses, banking and financial services (BFSI), and clean energy.
It is also aimed at providing customised financing solutions to growth-stage MSMEs, climate-focused businesses, and mid-sized corporates that have limited access to traditional sources of funding.
PCOF is Sundaram Alternates' second corporate credit strategy after the Emerging Corporate Credit Opportunities Fund I, which was launched in 2024.
Sundaram Alternates noted that it has raised nearly ₹7,500 crore across its credit strategies so far.
The platform has completed more than 130 transactions without reporting any capital losses, while its private credit strategies have generated gross investor returns in the range of 15% to 20%, depending on the investment approach.
The company manages assets of nearly ₹12,000 crore across alternative investment funds, portfolio management services, and customised managed accounts.
In recent months, Sundaram Alternates completed the final close of its Real Estate Credit Fund V at ₹2,500 crore.
It has also launched AlphaBet – Series I, which has a target corpus of ₹1,500 crore and a greenshoe option of ₹500 crore, with investments spanning listed equities and private credit opportunities.
