
Shyam Metalics and Energy Ltd. has expanded its renewable energy footprint with the commissioning of an 8.90 MWp captive solar power project by its wholly owned subsidiary, Shyam Sel and Power Ltd., at its manufacturing facility in Jamuria, West Bengal, as per the exchange filings.
The project has been developed to increase the use of clean energy across operations while supporting power cost optimisation and reducing the group's carbon footprint.
The solar project has been implemented using a combination of CAPEX and OPEX models.
Of the total 8.90 MWp capacity, 4.60 MWp has been developed under the CAPEX model, while the remaining 4.30 MWp follows the OPEX route.
The newly commissioned facility has been designed for captive power consumption, enabling the company to integrate renewable energy into its manufacturing operations.
The initiative is also aimed at improving energy efficiency, lowering operational power costs, and advancing the group's sustainability efforts.

The commissioning of the captive solar project adds renewable generation capacity to Shyam Metalics' manufacturing operations while reinforcing its focus on captive clean energy usage. The project combines two execution models to support operational efficiency and sustainability across its Jamuria facility.
