Indian benchmark index BSE Sensex traded in the green on Monday, September 8, 2025. At 10:10 AM, the Sensex was up 225.50 points or 0.28%, at 80,936.26, after opening at 80,904.40 and touching an intraday high of 81,048.67.
Among the top gainers were Tata Motors (+2.91%), Tata Steel (+2.33%), and M&M (+1.95%). Adani Ports (+1.71%) and Maruti (+1.10%) also posted strong gains. On the downside, TCS (-0.62%), Asian Paints (-0.50%), and Infosys (-0.24%) were among the laggards.
Market sentiment remained positive, with most Sensex stocks trading higher, supported by buying in auto and metal counters, despite mild profit-booking in IT and select index majors.
All the indices on BSE were in green. BSE Bankex and BSE Sensex 50 increased by 0.06% and 0.29%, respectively.

The Sensex sustained its gains in early trade, driven by auto and metal strength, though IT weakness capped upside momentum.
