State Bank of India (SBI), the nation’s largest public sector lender, has announced a scheduled digital banking services downtime on October 11, 2025. This temporary disruption is part of a planned maintenance activity and will impact various key services during early morning hours.
SBI has confirmed that from 1:10 AM to 2:10 AM (IST) on October 11, 2025, several digital platforms will remain inaccessible due to system maintenance. Services that will be unavailable during this 1-hour window include Unified Payments Interface (UPI), Immediate Payment Service (IMPS), You Only Need One (YONO), Internet Banking, Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS), and National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT).
Despite the broad service suspension, SBI customers will continue to have access to essential services such as ATM transactions and UPI Lite. These can be utilised for low-value payments. UPI Lite does not require a UPI PIN, enabling faster and smoother transactions, especially valuable during scheduled disruptions.
UPI Lite allows customers to carry out payments without entering a PIN for transactions up to ₹1,000 each. The total daily limit for UPI Lite balances is capped at ₹5,000. These transactions do not appear in the bank statement, as they are deducted from a wallet instead of directly from the savings account.

This scheduled maintenance follows a series of technical issues reported earlier in October. Between October 7 and October 8, 2025, customers faced intermittent UPI disruptions, which led the bank to suggest reliance on UPI Lite. This outage aims to address and improve backend systems for more stable future operations.
Customers are advised to plan their transactions accordingly, as core digital services will be non-operational for 1 hour. Services like ATM withdrawals and UPI Lite remain active, offering limited functionality during the maintenance window.
