Reliance Industries Share Price in Focus After Jio Platforms IPO Announces Price Band

Jio Platforms has fixed the price band for its initial public offering (IPO) at ₹1,065 to ₹1,119 per share. The company announced on Wednesday (October 14, 2026) evening that it would issue 27 crore shares through a fresh issue, with no offer for sale (OFS).
At the upper end of the price band, the IPO is valued at ₹30,213 crore. This is higher than Hyundai Motor India’s ₹27,870 crore IPO in 2024, which was entirely an OFS.
Reliance Industries Shareholders Get Reserved Shares
Jio Platforms has reserved 2.23 crore shares worth ₹2,500 crore for existing Reliance Industries shareholders. October 14, 2026, is the cut-off date for eligibility under this category.
Investors who held Reliance Industries shares on or before October 13, 2026, can apply under the reserved quota. Those who bought shares on October 14 are not eligible. The maximum application amount is ₹2 lakh, the same limit that applies to retail investors.
Retail investors have been allocated 35% of the issue. The shareholder reservation allows eligible Reliance Industries investors to apply for Jio Platforms shares directly, rather than gaining exposure to the business only through Reliance Industries.
Jio Platforms Valuation at ₹10.3 Lakh Crore
At the upper end of the price band, Jio Platforms is likely to have a valuation of around ₹10.3 lakh crore. This is more than twice the valuation at which most of its major private investors entered the company in 2020.
Several financial and sovereign investors invested at an equity valuation of about ₹4.91 lakh crore. Google’s investment was made at a valuation of approximately ₹4.36 lakh crore.
Reliance’s Digital and Telecom Businesses
Jio Platforms includes Reliance’s mobile services, broadband, cloud, entertainment, enterprise technology and artificial intelligence-linked platforms. The business covers both telecommunications and digital services.
Reliance Industries owns about two-thirds of Jio Platforms. A separate listing would give the company its own market valuation and allow investors to purchase its shares directly.

Reliance Industries Share Price Performance
As of October 15, 2026, 11:52 am, Reliance Industries share price was trading at ₹1,206.70, a 2.73% increase from the previous closing price.
Conclusion
The ₹30,213 crore issue would overtake Hyundai Motor India’s 2024 IPO to become India’s largest public offering. The listing would also provide a separate market valuation for Jio Platforms, a major business within Reliance Industries.
