RailTel Corporation of India has bagged two major smart city projects in Maharashtra, with combined orders exceeding ₹103 crore. The contracts were awarded by Nashik Municipal Smart City Development Corporation Ltd. and Panvel Municipal Corporation, strengthening RailTel’s role in powering digital infrastructure for urban development.
RailTel received a work order valued at ₹70.94 crore (₹70,94,90,681) (excluding tax) from Nashik Municipal Smart City Development Corporation Ltd. The project involves selecting an implementation agency to supply, lay, install, test and commission a city-wide network backbone for Nashik and Trimbakeshwar, along with operations and maintenance services.
The order was issued on 11 September 2025 at 17:16, with completion scheduled by 31 December 2026. The company confirmed that there is no promoter or group interest in this order, and it is not a related party transaction.
On the same day, Panvel Municipal Corporation awarded RailTel another project worth ₹32.51 crore (₹32,51,26,720) (including tax). This work relates to supplying, installing, and providing services for SDWAN-based Internet Lease Line/MPLS connectivity at multiple locations under the Panvel Safe City Project.
The order was issued at 15:54 on 11 September 2025, with execution to be completed by 19 March 2031. RailTel clarified that there is no promoter or group interest or related party element in this project as well.
These back-to-back wins, together valued at over ₹103 crore, highlight RailTel’s increasing presence in smart city initiatives. Both projects are domestic in nature and fall under RailTel’s core expertise of delivering advanced connectivity, backbone infrastructure and long-term managed services for urban governance.

As of September 12, 2025, at 11:52 AM, RailTel Corporation of India share price is trading at ₹370.70 per share, reflecting a gain of 2.01% from the previous closing price. Over the past month, the stock has gained by 8.05%.
With these new orders from Nashik and Panvel, RailTel continues to expand its footprint in Maharashtra’s smart city ecosystem. The projects not only strengthen its portfolio in the connectivity and digital infrastructure domain but also reaffirm its role as a trusted government-owned technology partner.
