RailTel Corporation of India has landed a series of high-value contracts worth ₹713.52 crore from the Bihar Education Project Council (BEPC) aimed at enhancing digital education infrastructure across government schools in the state. These work orders cover multiple digital initiatives to be completed by March 2026.
The deal includes five distinct contracts focused on improving educational resources in Bihar’s government schools. The largest among them is a ₹262.14 crore contract to establish Smart Classrooms in Government Middle Schools. This ambitious project is meant to digitise learning environments, provide multimedia teaching tools, and will be executed by March 31, 2026.
Another noteworthy contract worth ₹257.50 crore includes the supply and installation of Smart Classrooms at Government Secondary and Senior Secondary Schools. This initiative mirrors the middle school programme and aims to bridge the digital divide for older students. Additionally, a ₹44.21 crore order involves setting up ICT Labs for computer education to promote basic digital literacy and practical exposure.
A separate ₹89.91 crore order was granted for providing teaching and learning materials to Classes I to V across primary schools. This contract supports foundational learning using physical aids and aims to improve student engagement in classrooms. All components of this initiative are scheduled for completion by March 31, 2026.

In a unique move, RailTel will also implement Innovation and Smart Manufacturing (ISM) Labs across schools. Valued at ₹59.76 crore, this segment is designed to promote hands-on technical learning and foster innovation among students. The ISM Labs are expected to be operational by December 31, 2025.
On September 9, 2025, RailTel Corporation of India share price opened at ₹357.00 on NSE, above the previous close of ₹345.95. During the day, it surged to ₹361.15 and dipped to ₹355.50. The stock is trading at ₹356.75 as of 9:17 AM. The stock registered a significant gain of 3.12%.
