The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has postponed the lottery draw for 4,186 homes under its Pune Board, leaving more than 2.15 lakh applicants waiting for results. The draw was initially scheduled for December 16 or 17, 2025, but officials cancelled it due to technical issues and incomplete pre-lottery procedures.
These include verifying applications and preparing the eligibility list. MHADA has not confirmed a new date for the draw, although the draft list of eligible applicants is expected to be published soon.
MHADA officials cited ongoing technical problems and delays in completing mandatory checks as reasons for the postponement. The draw was part of a housing scheme launched in September 2025, aimed at providing affordable homes under two categories: the 20% Comprehensive Housing Scheme and the 15% Integrated Housing Scheme.
The delay has caused uncertainty among applicants who have deposited earnest money and are awaiting allocation. Officials have assured that the process will resume once all compliance steps are completed.
The housing scheme attracted significant interest, with MHADA receiving 2,15,847 applications. Earnest money deposits from these applicants total nearly ₹447 crore, highlighting the scale of participation.
The scheme covers 4,186 homes across Pune, catering to different income groups under the two housing categories. The large volume of applications has added complexity to the verification process, contributing to the delay in finalising the eligibility list.
Although scrutiny of applications is complete, MHADA must still publish a draft list of eligible applicants and invite objections. This will be followed by hearings and finalisation of the list before the lottery draw can take place.
The draft list is scheduled to be uploaded on MHADA’s official website at 6 pm on Monday. However, no new date for the actual draw has been announced, leaving applicants uncertain about timelines.
The postponement has affected more than 2.15 lakh applicants who were expecting results this week. MHADA officials have indicated that the delay is temporary and necessary to ensure transparency and accuracy in the allocation process.
Once objections are addressed and the final list is prepared, the lottery draw will be conducted online. Applicants are advised to monitor MHADA’s official website for updates on the revised schedule and eligibility list.

MHADA’s decision to defer the Pune lottery draw highlights the need to complete all procedural checks before allocation. With deposits of ₹447 crore and thousands of applicants awaiting outcomes, the authority is under pressure to move swiftly while ensuring compliance.
The publication of the draft list marks the next critical milestone in the process. The final lottery date will be announced after this stage is completed.
