L&T PT&D Wins Key Grid Infrastructure Orders in India and Abroad

Larsen & Toubro’s Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) vertical has recently won significant grid infrastructure orders both in India and overseas. These projects encompass Distribution SCADA, dynamic reactive power compensation devices, and smart grid solutions, reinforcing L&T’s leadership in modern power infrastructure.
Key Projects in India
In India, L&T will revamp power distribution in two towns by integrating SCADA and smart technologies. The scope includes upgrading distribution transformer stations and converting overhead electrical lines into underground cabling, enhancing reliability, efficiency, and overall power quality.
Strategic Orders from UAE
In the UAE, L&T will design, deliver, and construct two ±300 MVAr STATCOM systems at existing 400 kV substations for dynamic reactive power compensation. STATCOM provides real-time voltage stabilisation by automatically injecting or absorbing reactive power, ensuring high-quality and stable power supply across the grid.
Oman Project Highlights
L&T has also received an order from Oman to establish a 400/132 kV grid station along with an associated 400 kV transmission line segment. This project underlines L&T’s expertise in creating robust transmission infrastructure capable of supporting long-term energy demands.
