Ladli Behna Yojana: Madhya Pradesh CM Announces ₹250 Raksha Bandhan ‘Shagun’ for Beneficiaries

In a move aimed at further empowering women and marking the festive occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has announced a special monetary gesture for beneficiaries of the Ladli Behna Yojana. Alongside this festive benefit, he also rolled out the latest instalment of the scheme and introduced several infrastructure projects to boost regional development.
Festive Gesture for Women Under Ladli Behna Yojana
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav declared that an additional ₹250 will be given as “shagun” (token amount given as blessing) to each beneficiary of the Ladli Behna Yojana on Raksha Bandhan, supplementing the ₹1,250 already provided as a monthly instalment. This announcement was made on Monday (June 16) at a public function in Belkheda village, situated 40 km from Jabalpur district headquarters. “While the Ladli Behna scheme provides ₹1,250 per month to eligible women, an additional ₹250 will be transferred next month as a ‘shagun’ on the Raksha Bandhan festival,” he stated.
Welfare Disbursements and Regional Development Initiatives
The CM also transferred a collective amount of ₹1,551.44 crore as the June instalment into the accounts of 1.27 crore women under the scheme, which marks the 25th instalment since the scheme’s inception.
