Indian Railways has announced that it will run 12,000 special trains during Diwali and Chhath 2025. The move aims to ensure safe, smooth, and convenient travel for people heading home for the celebrations. These trains will run across the country and provide additional berths for passengers who miss tickets on regular trains.

Key Routes Announced

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that four new Amrit Bharat trains will soon start:

  • Delhi to Gaya
  • Saharsa to Amritsar
  • Chhapra to Delhi
  • Muzaffarpur to Hyderabad

Additionally, a new Vande Bharat train will run between Purnia and Patna.

Discussions with Leaders

The decision came after discussions with MP Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal, Union Minister Lallan Singh, Bihar Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary, and MP Sanjay Kumar Jha. Vaishnaw stressed that arrangements have also been made to ensure a smooth return journey after the festivals.

Extra Convenience for Passengers

To make travel easier, Railways has also introduced a “Round Trip Package.” Under this scheme, passengers booking both onward and return tickets together will get discounts. The return details will be matched with the original booking to avoid misuse.
