Harshavardhan Chitale to Assume CEO Role from January 2026
The Board of Directors of Hero MotoCorp, in its meeting held on September 8, 2025, approved the appointment of Mr Harshavardhan Chitale as CEO, with effect from January 5, 2026. Upon his appointment, Mr Vikram Kasbekar will step down as Acting CEO. However, he will continue serving on the Board as Executive Director and Chief Technology Officer.
This change aligns with Hero’s efforts to bring seasoned global leadership to the forefront of its transformation strategy, focusing on innovation, digitisation, and sustainability in mobility solutions.
Extensive Global Experience in Technology and Transformation
Mr Chitale brings over 30 years of global leadership experience across B2B and B2C sectors, including expertise in industrial automation, digital transformation, lighting, and information technology services. He recently served as Global CEO of Signify’s €4 billion Professional Business, overseeing 12,000 employees across 70 countries and leading product development and digital initiatives.
Previously, he held leadership roles at Philips Lighting India, HCL Infosystems, and Honeywell Automation India. An IIT Delhi alumnus and recipient of the Director’s Gold Medal, Mr Chitale is also an active angel investor in EVs, clean energy, health-tech, and agri-tech sectors.
