Gold financier stocks remained in focus on August 24, 2026, as Muthoot Finance and Manappuram Finance gained despite weakness in the Indian equity markets.  

Rally in these stocks came after gold prices moved higher in domestic and international markets, supporting investor interest in gold financing companies. 

Gold Financier Stocks Gain as Gold Prices Rise 

The Indian equity benchmark indices ended in the red on August 24, 2026. However, gold financier stocks outperformed the frontline indices, with Muthoot Finance and Manappuram Finance gaining up to 6% on the NSE. 

The rally in these stocks came as gold prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) traded higher, tracking gains in international bullion prices amid a weaker US dollar. 

Reason for Rally in Gold Prices 

As of 4:43 PM on August 24, 2026, the price of gold futures on the MCX for the October 5, 2026, contract saw a rise of ₹939, which is a 0.58% increase, with the price now standing at ₹1,63,387 for every 10 grams. 

Gold prices rose, with spot gold increasing by 0.73% to $4,636.82 per ounce, after earlier reaching their highest point since May 15, 2026.  

This surge comes on the heels of a strong performance last week, where gold prices gained over 5%. The US gold futures experienced a notable surge, surpassing $4,700 per ounce as of 4:51 PM.  

According to an NDTV Profit report, gold prices in global markets touched their highest level in more than 3 months as investors awaited key US inflation data and a speech later in the week by Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh. 

Muthoot Finance and Manappuram Finance Share Price Performance 

As of August 24, 2026, Muthoot Finance share price ended higher by 6% at ₹3,209 per share on the NSE. Manappuram Finance share price gained 2.11% to close at ₹365.05 per share on the NSE.
