Route Launch and Government Push for Connectivity
The inaugural event for the new service was held at Vijayawada International Airport, with Civil Aviation Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu attending virtually. Andhra Pradesh Minister of Mines Kollu Ravindra was present at the venue.
Announcing the launch, Naidu confirmed that Fly91 has begun flight operations on the Hyderabad–Vijayawada–Hyderabad route. He highlighted that the airline’s expansion reflects the effectiveness of regional connectivity initiatives such as UDAN.
The minister also noted that the revamped UDAN programme aims to develop 100 additional airports across the country, reinforcing the government’s focus on expanding aviation access.

The airline’s growing presence across different states is seen as a sign of rising demand for regional air travel.
In parallel, efforts are underway to further expand connectivity at Vijayawada airport. Plans include adding more domestic routes as well as exploring international connections in the near future.
State Perspective and Economic Impact
At the event, Kollu Ravindra handed over boarding passes to passengers on the inaugural flight and outlined the state government’s vision to enhance airport infrastructure across districts.
He emphasised that better air connectivity would support logistics and cargo movement while contributing to broader regional economic development.
