On December 30, 2025, authorities at the Navi Mumbai International Airport announced revised prepaid taxi and auto-rickshaw fare structures.

Designed under the supervision of the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO), Panvel, the move ensures passengers benefit from fixed rates, aiming to prevent overcharging while offering a reliable travel experience from the airport.

Revised Fare Structure for Taxis and Auto-Rickshaws

The prepaid taxi fare is set at ₹20.66 per kilometre. For journeys up to 6 km, the total fare will be ₹155, inclusive of a 25% incentive.

Beyond this, fares increase based on predefined distance brackets — ₹207 for 6.1–8 km, ₹258 for 8.1–10 km, ₹310 for 10.1–12 km, and ₹347 for 12.1–14 km. For longer trips, the fare escalates in intervals, reaching up to ₹998 between 40.1 km and 42 km. Distances beyond 42 km will follow a 2 km slab pricing method.

Prepaid auto-rickshaw fares have been revised to ₹17.14 per kilometre. A trip up to 6 km will cost ₹129.

For 6.1–8 km and 8.1–10 km, the rates are set at ₹171 and ₹214, respectively. Like taxis, slab-based pricing is applicable up to 42 km, after which fare calculation continues in 2 km increments.

Implementation Through Authorised Stands

The ARTO confirmed that only authorised stands will be permitted for prepaid taxis and auto-rickshaws at key transport nodes, including the airport.

This system is expected to enhance passenger safety, streamline driver accountability, and create a standardised fare mechanism for commuters travelling from Navi Mumbai Airport.

Conclusion

The introduction of fixed prepaid taxi and auto fares at Navi Mumbai Airport marks a step towards transparent travel pricing. The structured fare slabs aim to provide clarity, helping avoid disputes and ensuring fair service for passengers.
