DCX Systems Limited announced on Friday, September 12, that it has signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Government of Tamil Nadu. The MoU was signed through the state’s nodal agency, Guidance, at the TN Rising Investment Conclave held on September 11 in Hosur. The event was attended by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin.
The MoU covers the establishment of a radar manufacturing unit in Hosur. The facility will be developed by a joint venture between DCX Systems and Israel’s ELTA Systems Ltd and its group companies. The project will focus on the production of airborne maritime radar systems, fire control radar systems, and radar technologies for airborne and land applications.
The proposed unit will be located in Hosur, which forms part of India’s Defence Industrial Corridor. It will operate under the frameworks of the Tamil Nadu Industrial Policy 2021 and the Tamil Nadu Aerospace and Defence Industrial Policy 2022. These policies provide incentives and support measures for aerospace and defence projects in the state.
Guidance, the Tamil Nadu government’s facilitation agency, will provide infrastructural support for the project. The agency will also assist in obtaining approvals, registrations, and clearances required under applicable laws. Regulatory facilitation and incentives available under the state’s industrial policies will be extended to the project.
