Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR) has signed a long-term agreement with GAIL (India) Limited to establish a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) dispensing station at CONCOR's Inland Container Depot (ICD) in Khodiyar, Ahmedabad. The initiative is aimed at supporting the adoption of cleaner fuel alternatives in India's heavy-duty commercial logistics sector.

As part of the arrangement:

  • GAIL will have exclusive operational control of the LNG retail outlet.

Project Aims to Support Green Logistics

The agreement is intended to support the transition towards cleaner fuel in India's logistics sector.

To support the commercial viability of the project, CONCOR has committed to deploying a dedicated fleet of 15 LNG-powered commercial vehicles from the first year of the agreement.

According to the companies, the LNG dispensing station will serve CONCOR's transportation requirements while also providing eco-friendly fuel to other heavy commercial vehicles operating in the region.
