On January 8, 2025, the BSE Sensex ended in red closing at 78,148.49, down by 0.06% and the NSE Nifty50 closed at 23,688.95, declining by 18.95 points or 0.08%.

On Wednesday, Nifty Consumer Durables, Nifty MidSmall Financial Services and Nifty Healthcare Index ended in the red. Nifty Oil & Gas, Nifty IT and Nifty FMCG ended in green. Nifty Oil & Gas rose by over 1.5%.
Top Gainers and Losers
On Wednesday, the top gainers on the Nifty included ONGC, ITC and Asian Paints. In contrast, the losers were Apollo Hospitals, Trent andUltraTech Cement.
Oil Prices
