Closing Bell: Sensex Gains 364 Points, Nifty Surpasses 24,450

On October 29, 2024, benchmark stock indices, the BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50, reduced their early losses and gained for the second day in a row, closing in the positive.
The BSE Sensex rose by 363.99 points, or 0.45%, finishing at 80,369.03. Likewise, the NSE Nifty 50 increased by 127.70 points, or 0.52%, to close at 24,466.85.
Sectoral Performance
In terms of sectors, banking, real estate, power, and capital goods increased by 1-2%, while pharmaceuticals, IT, and automotive sectors dropped by 0.5-1%.
Top Gainers and Losers
Notably, 31 of the 50 stocks in the Nifty 50 index closed higher, with the biggest gains coming from State Bank of India, Bharat Electronics, HDFC Life, SBI Life, and Eicher Motors, which rose by as much as 5.05%.
In contrast, Maruti Suzuki India, Tata Motors, Dr Reddy’s Labs, Hero MotoCorp, and Sun Pharma were among the 19 stocks that fell, with losses reaching up to 4.16%.

As of October 29, 2024, at 03:52 PM, Brent Crude was trading at $72.15, up by 1.02%.
