BSNL Collaborates with Global Tech Companies to Launch AI and 5G Networking Courses

In a landmark development for skills and innovation, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has joined forces with leading international technology firms to launch comprehensive training in 5G, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and networking at Jabalpur’s renowned BRBRAITT institute.
Strategic Partnerships and Government Vision
The signing of memoranda with Ericsson India, Qualcomm Technologies, Cisco Systems, and Nokia Solutions and Networks took place with Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and key telecom officials present.
Minister Scindia stated, “From local to global, India will not just make in India, but make for the world. Jabalpur will be at the heart of this transformation.” The initiative forms part of the Department of Telecommunications’ blueprint to establish a cutting-edge Telecom Innovation, Research and Training Centre (TIRTC) at BRBRAITT, reinforcing both development and skills as central pillars.
Advanced Training & Industry Collaboration
The programme is designed to train more than 2,000 participants annually, with courses ranging from two-week modules to extended 84-hour formats. Ericsson India will set up a dedicated 5G Centre of Excellence, offering on-site and online sessions through the Ericsson Educate Programme. Qualcomm Technologies will establish the Qualcomm Institute, focusing on 5G and AI, with the first 100 trainees sponsored for live learning and internships.
Cisco Systems will engage participants via its Networking Academy, granting free access to networking, cybersecurity and IT infrastructure materials. Nokia is supporting the establishment of both a 5G Centre of Excellence and an AI/ML lab, aiming to train 300 learners each year with a joint certification from BRBRAITT.
Driving Smart Skills for Future Telecoms
The initiative aligns with national missions such as Digital India, Skill India, Make in India, Startup India and Atmanirbhar Bharat. By equipping thousands with advanced digital capabilities, BSNL and its partners are paving the way for India to assert leadership in connected technology and smart telecom innovation.
